The curse of the kicking strap

Some well-known Finnhorse breeder once said he doesn't use kicking straps with young horses so they won't learn "the art of kicking". That keeps echoing in my head.

Every time I'm putting the kicking strap on Venda, I hear the words in my head. Every - single - time.

Venda is known for "the lightness of her backside". She's also known to be faster than lightning with her moves. Both bodily and inside head activity-wise. That's why I won't even consider driving her without the strap.

Then, one time, the strap said *snap*. I was sure it was the end of us. End of me at least. But it turned out to be the best 400 meters of my life!

Makes you wonder.
