A break

After Lego arrived, Venda did great. She had an actual best friend, what would be more important than that!

Since it's not custom for us to have happyhappyjoyjoy times with unicorns farting good luck and rainbows with perfection, Venda hurt her foreleg a bit. Nothing serious, but a little bit of swelling in the tip of the splint bone. But still. A hit.

I was pretty worried about her deep digital flexor tendon. After two doctors and one x-ray, I was ready to believe there was nothing wrong. Time would tell if there was going to be any problems due to the hit, and if so, more examination would be done.

First two weeks we took very carefully. She was kept on a smaller paddock and the leg was treated with cold water.

Venda has had little problems with her left hind leg since she was born. Nothing major, but muscles don't develop as well as on the right side. Since we had to take things slower, I thought this would be a good time for some physiotherapy.

The plan was to get more balance on her muscles and movement with exercises other than putting her in front of a sulky. When the balance is gained, she will have sulky training back on her program.

In a way, we break the old way of moving and build up a new one. Hopefully, she will have a clear memory of how moving should feel and she begins to move better and correct herself while moving. (Now, months later I'm glad to tell you, we somewhat succeeded.)

The one grinning is me and yes I know her headpiece is too big, but the ones we used before had gone small already.

As Venda is energetic as hell, it was about time to get the actual training to the program. Glad I had helping hands, she tried all the tricks she could come up with. After few laps, she realized this could be fun for us all, even her and we found some sort of agreement on direction and speed.
